Steinsdotter Unveils Bold New EP ‘3’ with Intimate Stories and Baroque Twists

London, UK (September 13, 2024) – London’s rising genre-blending artist Steinsdotter returns with 3, an evocative new EP out October 17. The project features three tracks that explore themes of home, reinvention, and homage, offering a fresh glimpse into her evolving artistry. Produced by Agon Branza, 3 combines baroque influences, personal storytelling, and a live cover of a legend’s classic.

Opening with “The Village,” Steinsdotter crafts a playful yet insightful look at her roots in Norway. The track captures the spirit of growing up in a small community and reflects the unique life lessons that come with it. “The village is a bit of a wild card,” Steinsdotter says, laughing. “Anyone from a small village will relate. You learn things that a city just can’t teach you. It’s my playful nod to the quirks of village life—you can take the girl out of the village, but you can’t take the village out of the girl!”

“Hoes 1733,” adds a surprising twist to the colorful collection of tracks. Initially recorded as a baroque-style version of the yet-to-be-released “Hoes,” it was set aside for a later date. However, the creative energy of the recording took over, and it became a must-share as a teaser for the single coming in 2025.

The final track, “Who By Fire,” is a deeply personal live rendition of Leonard Cohen’s classic, recorded during an impromptu performance at The Hotel Chelsea in New York. This cover holds particular significance for Steinsdotter, who has long been inspired by Cohen’s work and his connection to the iconic hotel. Steinsdotter shares, “When we were staying at The Chelsea, it felt right to honor him with a performance there. We had to sneak in the equipment to pull it off, and I made sure to sing it in Cohen’s original key. I may have smoked a few extra cigarettes to get my voice low enough, but it was worth it! A once-in-a-lifetime experience, for sure.”

Fans can look forward to the live performance video of "Who By Fire" releasing alongside the EP on October 17, aligning with the Hunter’s Moon as part of Steinsdotter’s full moon series happening all year.
