Third Annual Queerfest Set To Return To Nashville This August

Queerfest has been providing a space for queer music and communities in Nashville since 2021. This year’s festival features 13 LGBTQ+ identifying acts in a two-day, multi-venue festival in East Nashville on August 11 + 12, 2023.

NASHVILLE, TN (July 11, 2023) - The Nashville Scene’s 2022 “Best New Music Festival” returns for its third year celebrating queer artists in Music City this August. Founded by artist and entrepreneur Sara Gougeon in 2021, Queerfest has continued growing and transforming each year thanks to Gougeon’s dedication, passion, and effort to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ artists and fans in Nashville. Audiences can expect intimate performances from 13 rising Nashville artists starting at Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge on day 1, and finishing at The 5 Spot and The Basement East on day 2. Tickets are available on the Queerfest website with a general admission pass to the Basement East as well as a limited amount of full-festival passes. Once the full festival passes are sold-out, the remaining tickets for Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge and The 5 Spot will be sold at the door.

Formerly known as Queerfolk Fest, the event has since expanded its lineups to feature artists across a variety of genres in addition to the folk and bluegrass styles that the festival became known for in 2021. Besides being recognized by The Nashville Scene as the “Best New Festival” in 2022, Queerfest continues to thrive off of the connection and community that come to fruition at every event. Whether it's meeting new friends, collaborators, or simply embracing a safe space and positive community, Queerfest will always be an event for members of the LGBTQ+ community to look forward to.
