Maria Herrera’s Music Industry Revolution With Artist Management Company: Evergreen Entertainment

NASHVILLE, TN (January 12th, 2023) - Evergreen Entertainment CEO Maria Herrera has been working toward equality and inclusion within the music industry for over 2 years now. Her vision is to provide a full-service management and marketing service that caters to artists across diverse backgrounds. Since Evergreen’s emergence, Herrera has been able to gain full ownership of the company and completely rebrand and restructure the business. This gives the freedom to keep the company as inclusive and fun as possible, ensuring all involved have aligned beliefs and spirits. In 2022, Herrera grew the company to a point where she was able to take on a more administrative role, mostly overseeing operations and helping where needed, giving employees more responsibility. In 2022, Evergreen had a very successful year, expanding from mainly offering PR to full release services including booking shows for artists around the country, growing into a management role for the rapidly rising alt-pop band Fake Dad and Nashville’s Kate Cosentino, and working with some of the music industry's most notable tastemakers, such as Atwood Magazine, Ones to Watch, and RollingStone India. Keeping with the company's message and brand, Evergreen was even able to host their first showcase in Nashville that featured an all-female lineup in 2022.

Herrera says Evergreen is a company that provides services from “PR, to social media, to project management; we have houses in just about every area an artist might need support. We’ve designed our departments incredibly intentionally so we can pivot from point A to Z without disturbing the ecosystem we’ve built under each artist.” Herrera has always known she would start her own music-focused company. Having experience in the industry from a young age, she realized the sexism, racism, and other injustices that can come with it, and set a goal to work towards changing that. Herrera says her desire is to “use it [Evergreen] as a platform to make the world better - safer, happier, and more magical.” In addition to this principle, Herrera also looks to help those in need, having artists working with nonprofits, as well as helping artists who need it. She states, “We donate a lot of our time and resources to artists who might not be able to afford a company like Evergreen. I understand that having a team of this capacity can take a lot out of a budget, but that doesn’t mean we have to turn our noses up to those who aren’t as privileged.” Evergreen ensures that everyone working for/with the company has aligned values, Herrera stated “The moment I sense any kind of bias against me or my team because of our demographics or beliefs, I shut the conversation down. If it means losing a high-paying client, I don’t care, not even for a second. Nothing is worth losing our respect for ourselves.” This goes along with the advice Herrera gives to young women looking to break into the music industry “You must be your biggest and loudest advocate. There’s nobody else who’s going to do that for you. You have to wake up and believe in yourself, even when you don’t want to.”
